Everyone involved in the poultry production process – growers, producers, the feed and allied food industries, retailer and consumers – must work together if we are to develop and maintain a sustainable food chain.
Evonik is a member of The International Poultry Council (IPC) which affirmed its commitment as a leader in transforming the world through environmental and sustainable practices, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The IPC has three pillars of sustainability: Environmental; Economic; Societal &Ethical.
As IPC members, we recognize:
- The United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as the overarching framework that guides out actions towards sustainable development from a social, environmental, economic and health perspective
- The vital role of the poultry meat sector in improving the food and nutrition security and livelihoods of small-scale producers and their families

The global poultry meat sector can help build and foster industry, innovation, and infrastructure. Key actions are supporting innovation that delivers higher efficiency and sustainability, along with promoting research on more sustainable full-cycle production systems.
REDUCING GREENHOUSE GAS AND OTHER EMISSIONS:
The global poultry meat sector can take action to combat climate change by reducing emissions and addressing climate impacts. Key actions are promoting low-emission technologies and practices, increasing efficiencies and optimizing logistics, and engaging with supply chain partners.
